The organiser of a champagne-fuelled crypto currency bash where guests ate sushi off semi naked models is an events planner who arranged parties for Simon Cowell, Elton John and Leona Lewis.

Copper Technologies - which is cashiered by former chancellor Philip Hammond -sparked fury when pictures of the decadent night at the five-star Mandrake hotel in central London emerged. 

In the images a semi naked man and woman can be seen in a dimly lit dining room, lying on tables with sushi dishes around their bodies as guests look on and tuck into the party buffet.

The after-party came at the end of a large crypto industry conference in the capital and the company has since apologised and announced a review into what happened.

Now MailOnline can reveal the event was organised by Steven Duggan, a well-known party planner who has arranged celebrations for several A list stars. 

In the past, celebrities including Elton John, Simon Cowell, Adele, moneybagapp.com Leona Lewis and Mariah Carey have turned to him to sort out parties and the 39-year-old's Instagram page shows him with a number of these famous faces.

Speaking about the Rocket Man and his party, Duggan said: 'A friend of mine was Elton's PA and he put us in touch.

'I went and pitched to him as he was doing a 70th birthday for his valet. After that, I went to premieres with him, went to dinner with him, and got to know him.
