The Flashlight is the most commonly used utilitarian item upgrading. It illuminates the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to float in mid-air while moving and the Jetpack which allows him to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. In the Engineering section, you can quickly create a variety of utility items, while others are unlocked by research projects or experimental projects on the Proving Ground.

In addition to the items available in the standard inventory, players can unlock additional powerful utility items by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Some of these items can be upgraded to allow more effective use.
