Category A1 Rules For Motorcyclists

The category a1 rules apply to those who wish to operate small motorcycles. These motorcycles have capacity of cylinders up to 35kW. They are not derived directly from vehicles that have more than twice their power.

The open category of drone operations can be divided into three subcategories: A1 to A3. You can fly drones using the class label C0 or A1 within the A1 subcategory (flying over people) up to January 2024.

A1

Category A1 is one of three drone categories that are regulated by EASA. It applies to aircraft up to the maximum takeoff mass (MTOM) that is 25 kilograms. It requires a record of flight as well as a flight schedule as well as an identification system for remote use and a geoawareness. The drone must be within the constant sight of the pilot. It is not permitted to fly in the vicinity of people or areas that are used for commercial, recreational or industrial purposes. A1 license holders are permitted to drive mopeds with an engine capacity of not more than 1250 cc, and a power-to-weight ratio not greater than 0.01 kW/kg. They are also able to drive motorcycles with a cylinder capacity of no more than 125 cc, as in addition to quad bikes and trikes.

The category A1 licence is designed to make it easier for drivers to be able to move to the next vehicle category. This allows drivers to drive vehicles with a a maximum mass of 35 kW. A2

You can also fly drones with a maximum mass of 4kg in the A2 category, but they must be kept at a safe distance from people during take-off and landing. A2 also enables drones that are transitional that are not yet CE registered, but have been modified to lessen the risk of collisions with humans. You will only be able to fly these drones with A2 until the end of 2022, following which they'll have to be in compliance with A3 regulations.

The A1 and A2 categories are designed to help you become a safe and confident motorcyclist. The number of lessons needed depends on your level of ability and progress in learning, but you must complete a certain amount of special rides. This includes at least five lessons on country road and four on highways and three lessons at dawn or procedura uzyskania prawa jazdy A1 in darkness.

A3

This class of drones can be used with a a maximum takeoff mass of 25 kg. It is a less risky operation, however strict precautions must be taken to prevent incidents. A distance of 150m is required between drones and residential, commercial industrial, recreational, and residential areas. This also requires drones to be equipped with an identification system for remotes and geoawareness systems.

Like the Open category the tier is split into sub categories A1, A2 and A3. The A1 subcategory permits drones that have Class Identification Label C0 or C1 to fly over people who are not in the drone. It imposes the requirement of a minimum distance of 30 meters from any third party when flying at an altitude of flight or 5 metres in slow flight mode.

Drones that have a Class identification label C2 may be operated in subcategory A2 in the event that the drone is in compliance with the dimensions required and the remote pilot passes an additional test of theoretical knowledge. This test is designed for the remote pilot to evaluate their understanding of the technical and operation mitigations that address the additional risks associated with flying slightly bigger drones (class A2, below 4kg mass) close to people. The successful completion of this test is rewarded with the 'certificate of competence required to fly in category A2'.

There are 'transitional arrangements' that permit older drones, which are not certified, to be operated under the categories A1 or A2 for two years following the implementation of the new EU regulations. Legacy drones are not permitted to be deliberately flown overhead of people and must be operated with an A2 CofC.

To operate a drone within this category, you need to first pass the online test for identification of flyers and then take a theoretical test. You must also declare that you have some real-world knowledge about your drone, and then submit a written proof of competence. These requirements are similar to the driving license model which means that the driver who has first obtained their license for a vehicle of a lower category can then be upgraded to a higher category.

A4

The DOH is currently preparing guidelines for category A4. These will be consistent with the other procedures and include information like the number of dressing changes each day. These guidelines will be presented to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections, (IATF-EID) and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. When they are approved, the guidelines will be reviewed and ratified by both the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group and the IATF EID.

In this category, drones sporting a class identification label C0 and C1 are able to fly within a minimum distance of 50 meters of uninvolved people. This is a low-risk subcategory, but stringent precautions must be taken to prevent accidents. Drones classified as A1 or A2 must take an additional theoretical test to be able to operate in this subcategory.

This test aims to determine the knowledge of the additional dangers associated with flying drones near people. The successful completion of the test results in an official certificate of competence for this subcategory. The operator must also keep a minimum distance of 30 metres from an non-involved person or 5 metres when flying in slow flight mode.
