Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Best item upgrade upgrades are a common and crucial method to enhance the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They boost the effectiveness of the item they are connected to. Upgrades to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged using a specialist or higher salvage kit to salvage upgrade components from items.

The amount of damage an armored item or weapon can absorb depends on the extent of its upgrades. A piece of armor upgraded to maximum upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. However, it's important to note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to be heavier than it was before.

There are a variety of armor upgrades available in the game. Each has a different effect. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an Item Upgrade will receive will be indicated by the name of the upgrade, as indicated in the table below.

A few upgrades are magic or a hybrid of technology and magic, which is indicated by the "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require charges to use, which are indicated by a "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges for these upgrades change every day or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method of upgrading armor is by using Iron Ore, which can be obtained through exploring the surroundings and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant improvements in stats and are a worthwhile investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.

The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to its max upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also decrease its agility and its speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to increase the effectiveness of specific aspects of a weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain weapons also come with enhancements that enhance their intrinsic characteristics. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the velocity of projectiles for greater damage).

The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. They can be gained by completing Side Quests or killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a set number of Bars. You can still do this, but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and buying gear that has low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a higher chance of giving you the highest level of advantages and benefits.

The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they most often use to help them level up faster. Players should also upgrade the weapons their squadmates use to boost their strength. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to increase its utility when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are placed in the sockets of armor and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be created using an process known as jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem and a number of specific ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the grade of the jewel, the better its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of gemstones in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the jewel it can provide different stat boost when slotted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to qualify for them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped by a different jewel of the same kind without destroying the original one. However you can only swap out the jewels in an equipment piece only once.

Using more jewels in the movement will make it feel smoother, and is often performed for aesthetic reasons. Apart from improving performance, the jewels also create an outer layer that is more durable than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause harm as easily.

In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades, the player can also acquire glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped freely, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also scattered Crystal. Glyphs are also removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, cannot be swapped out, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can give your character various small, but useful, benefits. They can be acquired starting in the starter areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, or by completing road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers, and found or purchased on the Trading Post.

The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost to movement speed and evasion. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has an upgrade slot which can be universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not fighting. This allows the hero to be more effective when not active and also helps fill in the void of a solid team or the absence of any slots in the talent tree that would normally be filled with the hero's ideal stats.

As a rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace soon. Then, you should consider any items with desirable statistics that aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is Best item upgrader to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one prior to the start of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand they will select a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's ability to control his map.

In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets in the form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. These can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
