1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you pick the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that the robot vacuums best is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has completed, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and washing the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

This Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek and angular design is attractive and it has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you plan cleanings and monitor the battery's life. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage.
